Jeff Rawson
President
Jeff is the founder and President of Merrick Capital, where he originates and manages Merrick’s investment portfolio. With over forty years of experience, Jeff strategically facilitates lender, investor and joint venture partner relationships in the rail, de novo banking, real estate and energy sectors. Jeff also serves in an advisory role for various third-party enterprises, family trusts and high net worth individuals. In all of his professional endeavors, Jeff prioritizes his strong working relationships with Merrick’s equity partners on the one hand, and local, national and international lenders on the other.
Outside of Merrick, Jeff has served as the Managing Director of Valencia Hotel Group since 1999, where he is responsible for sourcing and structuring debt and equity, identifying and negotiating joint venture opportunities, and managing legal matters in cooperation with the CFO.
Jeff is a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and is involved with a number of philanthropic organizations including Eagle Ranch for Boys and Girls, Houston: reVision, Ronald McDonald House Houston, The Women’s Home and Small Steps Nurturing Center. Jeff graduated from the University of Florida with a BSBA in International Trade and Economics. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972 and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.
